Buying Airline tickets? Here are a few travel tips
Here are a few tips when buying airline tickets online. Hope they help!

Plan in advance and buy early
The best prices tend to be on fares that are purchased at least 21 days in advance. Airfares fluctuate. The fare will usually go up after the 21 day threshold, but will sometimes go down. Most online travel sites won't tell you if your purchased fare has gone down.

Recognize A Good Deal
Unless you travel a lot or travel frequently between particular cities, it may be hard to know what a "good fare" really is. I found a site that anyone can check what the average airfare paid over the last quarter is by using FareWatch from GoFox.com. It's a great tool to help you figure out what a "good fare" looks like.

Be Informed
Watch for airfare sales. Generally, if one airline lowers it's fares in hopes of generating quick sales, most of the other airlines will follow suit. It's a good idea to receive the GoFox.com Inside Scoop, a free weekly email highlighting the best deals of the week. Airfare sales generally last only a few days so it's important to be ready to book when they happen.

Alternative Airports
Consider flying into or out of an alternative airport. For example, flying into Orange County instead of Los Angeles, Chicago Midway instead of Chicago O'Hare, or Baltimore instead of Washington, DC can save you up to 50% on flights.

Saturday Night stay
If your plans will allow it, consider staying over a Saturday night in your destination. Savings can reach up to 50%. Even though some airlines are no longer requiring this for certain low rates, most tend to keep the lowest fares for itineraries that include the Saturday stayover.

Flexibility Helps
If your travel plans aren't flexible on the dates, consider changing your flight times. There may be more availability on flights either before or after your desired time.
